RESTORE, PRESERVE, EDUCATE

Honoring the past, inspiring the future.

Who are we?

We are a team of former Royal Navy Sea Harrier engineers who have created a community interest, non-profit company dedicated to saving and preserving some of the few remaining Sea Harrier aircraft — so they can be enjoyed by the public once again.

The Sea Harrier is iconic. Its V/STOL (Vertical and Short Take-Off and Landing) capabilities changed naval aviation forever. With an unmatched record of 22 air-to-air kills and zero losses during the Falklands conflict, the aircraft became a legend. Retired from military service in 2006, fewer than 50 survive worldwide, with less than 30 in the UK. Of these, only 11 are in museums (not all complete), with the remainder in private hands and rarely seen by the public.

Our goal is to purchase, restore, and preserve a small number of these aircraft so they can be experienced up close in a way not possible in a traditional museum. Alongside their preservation, we will use them as powerful tools to create and support STEM education, inspiring the next generation of engineers, designers, developers, and pilots.

To achieve this, we are working to establish a purpose-built Heritage and STEM Campus in Cornwall.

Preserve the Legend. Inspire the Future

STEM Workshops

At STEM Project Harrier, we don’t just talk about aviation — we bring it to life. You won’t just watch videos or look at pictures; you’ll get hands-on and become part of the experience.

We’ll teach you how to program a basic radar system, how to code autonomous flight with real mission parameters, and how to analyze and interpret flight data just like an aerospace engineer.

You’ll learn the principles of flight and apply them in a truly interactive way — by designing and building your own drone, then test flying it to see your creation take to the skies.

Every module combines science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) in a way that’s practical, exciting, and deeply immersive. From exploring aerodynamics and flight stability to understanding stealth, radar, and vectored thrust, every lesson connects theory with real-world aviation challenges.

And to make it even more extraordinary, you’ll gain real-world experience with our retired Sea Harrier aircraft. We don’t just mean looking at them from behind a barrier — you’ll climb into the cockpit, light up the gauges, look beneath the engine covers, and see for yourself how these groundbreaking powerplants made V/STOL flight possible.

This is hands-on learning like no classroom can offer — an unforgettable opportunity to experience the science and engineering that changed aviation forever, and to inspire you to build the next evolution of aviation and technology.

Wear The SHPP Brand and Support Our Mission

Every item of clothing or product we sell helps us move closer to our goal of preserving these incredible aircraft. By purchasing our merchandise, you’re directly supporting the restoration and preservation of these iconic Sea Harriers — and helping us tell their stories in a way that goes far beyond traditional museums.

We’re using cutting-edge technologies like augmented reality, virtual reality, and artificial intelligence to create a fully immersive experience. You’ll be able to explore the aircraft, uncover their histories, and connect with their legacy like never before.

Your support brings these stories to life — and keeps them flying for future generations.

Hangar 22 is your crew lounge — where supporters get first access to news, videos, special content, and member-only days with the aircraft.
