At the heart of the Sea Harrier Preservation Project is a deep respect for history — not just for the aircraft themselves, but for the people, stories, and culture that surrounded them.
We’re proud to be building one of the UK’s most dedicated archives of Sea Harrier-related material, featuring:
Over 200 original photographs, capturing life around the Sea Harrier from squadron operations to maintenance crews.
Dozens of vintage aviation magazines and publications documenting the aircraft’s history in real time.
Original press releases and internal documents from BAE Systems and Rolls-Royce.
Familiarisation manuals, technical documentation, and flight deck reference materials.
Authentic Royal Navy clothing, gear, and equipment worn by the pilots and ground crews who flew and maintained these iconic aircraft.
We are currently in the process of cataloguing and digitising our entire collection. A full, searchable inventory of our archived items will be published in the near future, and our collection is growing every day.
If you have photographs, documents, memorabilia, or items related to the Sea Harrier that you’d like to donate or share with us, we would be honoured to include them in our archive. Every item helps us preserve and tell the full story of this incredible aircraft and the people connected to it.
Our archive is available for public viewing by private appointment only, as we continue to organise and expand the collection. If you’re a researcher, enthusiast, veteran, or family member and would like to view specific materials, please get in touch — we’d be happy to arrange a visit.
